Tautai LEAD – In-School Small Group Mentoring for Pasifika Youth

Empowering Pasifika Students Through Culture, Identity & Purpose

What is Tautai LEAD?

Tautai LEAD is a transformative in-school small group mentoring program that supports Pasifika young people to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally — all through the power of culture.

Operating in New Zealand and Australia since 2013, Tautai LEAD works in partnership with schools to enhance student engagement and holistic wellbeing through culturally-grounded mentoring

🌱 A Mentoring Journey in Three Phases

Tautai LEAD is a 30-week program delivered in three 10-week phases, each grounded in our unique framework: Know, Grow, Sow.

Phase 1: KNOW – Culture & Identity

  • Helps students understand who they are and where they come from

  • Builds confidence in cultural identity and personal storytelling

Phase 2: GROW – Culture & Careers

  • Connects cultural strengths to academic and career pathways

  • Encourages goal setting and purpose-driven thinking

Phase 3: SOW – Culture & Community

  • Cultivates leadership and service mindset

  • Encourages contribution to family, school, and wider community

Each phase is designed to guide students on a journey of self-discovery, connection, and empowerment.
